1 pair of large 9ct gold earring backs. Made from 9ct yellow gold these replacement butterfly backs are also known as scrolls, clasps, friction backs, and push fits. Whilst they have lots of names the small hole the earring post goes through has no known name! Our backs fit nearly all earrings but can’t be guaranteed to fit – especially if your earrings are hand made. The backs are approximately 5mm wide (please see image to compare sizes)

Very good, but the replacement one doesn’t quite grip the stem of my earring as tightly as the original did, which came from John Lewis and was part of a pair of real pearls with gold stems
Hi, butterfly earring backs can be ‘tightened’ be giving them a wee squeeze with a pair of pliers or tweezers!
